About the Inventor
Thomas W Fleming
Early on a warm July morning, Thomas Walter Fleming, was born to Alice and David Fleming who along with his Grandparents anxiously awaited his 2:00am arrival. Tom was the first son and first Grandson in his family on both sides.
His parents had moved to Florida when they got married and Tom spent his childhood wearing bathing suits and going barefoot while exploring the shoreline of the Bay behind number three Nimitz Street. It was a time when you could spend the entire day anywhere in the neighborhood playing with other children in the water or the springs that bubbled up from the ground, or on the beach without causing any parental worry.
During the summer months the mosquito killing tanker truck drove around once a week spraying a fog that filled the air from the street to the Bay. Mosquitoes have always been a part of Tom's life. His Dad spent his last year in the Army in a hospital bed but did survive Malaria. After his recovery he married his nurse who later became Tom's Mom.
From his Dad, a mechanic, Tom learned how to solve problems in a scientific manner. From his Mom, a nurse, he learned all about health, germs and disease.
Tom was an honor graduate in High School and an "A" student in Industrial Design at Georgia Tech. Two of his Tech projects were published in "50 Years The Bauhaus" and exhibited at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
Tom's corporate career was spent with companies in the Los Angeles area. In 1996 he moved his family to San Diego to develop new products in Hearing Protection. Tom has over twenty patents to his credit about half of which are related to medical products. His design work has also been recognized for excellence by the Museum of Modern Art.
Tom still remembers the scars on his Dad's chest from the early days of X-ray, and the mosquito tanker truck of his childhood. Tom has been thinking about fighting mosquitoes during the last ten years here in San Diego.
This background and experience gave him the foundation for creating the environmentally friendly Mosquito Genie™ product. Tom inherently believed that there must be some natural solution to this problem and after many daily experiments over a three year period finally achieved his goal.
The Mosquito Genie™ is Tom's favorite design project. It's solar powered. It's all natural and environmentally friendly. It kills mosquitoes. It's affordable. It's easy to set up. It allows you to take back your backyard.

Does a great job. Very impressive.
